Using Marketing Software to Make Your Job EasierWould it surprise you to learn that we use marketing software every day? But, perhaps that’s not surprising to you, given the prevalence of software in nearly every industry these days. What’s surprising, perhaps, is that you – yes, you! – should be using marketing software to make your job easier. There’s tons of marketing software out there these days, and you don’t have to be at a marketing agency like ours to access it. We’ll walk you through the top marketing software options out there and give you our best advice for choosing the right one(s) for your company.

Using Marketing Software to Make Your Job Easier

Hootsuite

I lead off with Hootsuite because it’s the one I use on a daily basis. Hootsuite is a great tool for managing the social media for your company. Plus (bonus!), your account will be free if you manage 3 accounts or less.

If you’ve ever looked into Hootsuite, you were probably scared away by the massive volume of information available at your fingertips. I remember the first time I tried out Hootsuite. I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of panels, tabs, streams…Where should I even start?? Hootsuite really is one of the best tools out there (IMHO, anyway) for social media managers. It’s a one stop shop for managing, scheduling, monitoring your social media channels. Check out the platform for yourself here

Moz

Do you handle the SEO for your company internally? If so, get on over to Moz! Moz focuses on SEO software, tools and resources. In fact, hands down, the Moz blog is the best resource for all things SEO related.

The software and tools are pretty fantastic, too. Track how your keywords are performing, find areas of improvement on your site and locate “low hanging fruit” to accomplish and thereby improve your SEO. Get started on Moz with a 30-day free trial. Learn more here.

HubSpot

If inbound marketing is the name of the game your company is playing, there’s no better platform out there than HubSpot. HubSpot offers an all-in-one inbound marketing platform, and you can use the platform to do everything from publish a blog, create landing pages, track conversions and much, much more. HubSpot also features a sales platform, helping companies attract visitors, convert leads and close customers all in one place. If you’re looking for one, solitary platform to use for almost all of your marketing needs, this is it. Note, however, that this “all in one” benefit comes with a price tag. The most basic version of HubSpot starts at $200/month. See everything HubSpot has to offer here.

Instapage

Want to create awesome landing pages for your website without committing to the full package of HubSpot? If so, Instapage might be a good option for your company. Instapage is a landing page platform featuring customizable templates, optimization and analytics, thank you pages, customizable fonts, lead notifications, a multi-user dashboard…See the full list of features here.

Instapage also offers a free trial – this one is for 14 days. For more details on pricing, click here.

MailChimp

Use MailChimp to send out your company’s email newsletters. MailChimp offers a lot of flexibility, whether you’d like to use a template or design your own email; whether you need an integration for ecommerce or marketing automation; whether you want advanced reporting features or the ability to build emails from mobile or tablet. See the full suite of features here.

Depending on how many subscribers you have, you might be able to take advantage of MailChimp’s “Forever Free” plan. Otherwise, their paid plans start out at $10/month. See which plan would work for your business here.

Google Analytics

If you’re not already using Google Analytics to track your site’s traffic, keywords, user flow and more, it’s time to do so. Google Analytics is free, so there’s really no reason not to. Sign up here.

More Marketing Software Options

I’ve heard good things about the rest of these options, but I can’t speak for them myself – we haven’t used them here at RedMoxy. Feel free to check them out, though, and, if you find one you love, definitely let us know.

Using any of these marketing software options – of some combination thereof – will make your job noticeably easier. There’s a lot of marketing that requires manual, attention-oriented detail. So, when you get the chance to let marketing software take some of the burden off your shoulders, take it!
