Your SEO Guide: What is Search Engine Optimization?

We toss around the term “SEO” all the time, so for those of you who feel a little in the dark, here is your breakdown.

Your SEO Guide: What is Search Engine Optimization?

What is Search Engine Optimization?-- RedMoxy CommunicationSEO is an umbrella strategy that has multiple different tactics underneath it. The purpose of optimizing your website is to improve your ranking on an Internet search (move up with the ultimate goal of landing on the first page) and, ultimately, to drive traffic to your website.

The other key to this is that this is all organic — or unpaid. You aren’t putting ads up to be at the top of a Google ranking. Instead, your website just naturally pops up to the top.

Building SEO takes a lot of work, so you may ask… Is it worth it?

Does SEO matter?

To put it simply, yes. And, we aren’t just saying that because we are a marketing agency.

Yes, you can find a website by clicking a link on social media or from getting it sent to you in an email. But, Internet searches still generate the most traffic for websites as a whole.

If you aren’t getting people to find your website organically, you are seriously narrowing down the number of site visitors who can find your website.
